Frida Kahlo de Rivera (born Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón – 1907 – 1954) was a Mexican painter, who mostly painted self-portraits. Inspired by Mexican popular culture, she employed a naïve folk art style to explore questions of identity, postcolonialism, gender, class, and race in Mexican society. Her paintings often had strong autobiographical elements and mixed realism with fantasy.
Somehow I have always been fascinated by her, so these erotic photos from her are my way giving a tribute to this free soul, that lived with pain every day since the bus accident at the age of 17. She found the spirit to change the goals she had set for herself and began painting as medical illustrator, which would combine her interests in art and science (she wanted to become a doctor before the accident).
